The Doris Day Animal League announced a campaign to create a Charitable Pet Trusts Act, which will uniformly provide the right for all Americans to plan for the loving guardianship of their longtime four-legged friends.  Federal legislation will provide humane protection to family pets, encourage charitable giving for the remainder of the trust, and relieve society of the burden of abandoned or orphaned animals.

Citizens for Pets in Condos wholeheartedly supports Doris Day Animal League on this project, as it provides an answer to one of the issues standing in the way of allowing seniors in 55+ housing to have pets.

Please contact your US (federal-level) senators and representative in favor of the Charitable Pet Trusts Act.  Click here to contact the two senators for your state.  Also, click here to find your US Representative by zip code.  (use the Find Your Representative boxes in the upper left) to contact your federal-level legislators.  You need to know your full five + four zip code.  If you do not know your full zip code, go to http://www.usps.com and click on the Find a Zip tab in the upper left.
